What We Do

My blog has pretty much turned into Braelyns Blog (which was kinda the plan anyway), if you hadn't noticed, SO I thought I'd put up a few pics of what we do during the day!!! BUT before I dot, I have to mention that my poor baby is sick for the first time!!! It's so sad! Actually we're both sick, so I'm sure she caught it from me. She's got a runny nose, cough, and has run a fever only once. Anyway it's so very sad, but I think she's over the hump! Back to the pics......
Kickin' her feet up

She's not crawling yet, but here's an action shot of her rolling back and forth trying to reach it. She'll be crawling very soon I think!
She LOVES to stand up, but can't do it for very long on her own..about 5 seconds I'd say. I was lucky to get this one on camera!!!
PEEK-A-BOO..............

I SEE YOU!!!!!

Mothers Day Weekend

I had a really great, and very busy first Mother's Day. This used to be a really hard day for me until I was blessed to become a mom to Braelyn. I'm so thankful to be a mom :> We had lots of company and a very full house this weekend. Brittons parents, sister and friend, and his brother and his family were all staying at our house. I also had my big triathlon sprint I've been training for...yay!!! It was really hard, but so fun and so worth it!!! It was in Tempe, AZ, and I had to swim a half mile in the lake, bike for 13.4 miles, and then run a 5K!! Britton, Braelyn, Cindy, Curtis, Sheridan, and Carly all came to support me and cheer me on, which really meant alot...Thanks you guys!!! The action shot of me running at the end

Grandma and Braelyn

After the race everyone wanted to go swimming (minus me...I was done swimming for the day!), and this was Braelyns first time in a pool, so it was fun to see her reactions. She really did amazing...she LOVED the water, and cried when she had to get out!!! We even dunked her like 3 times and she didn't cry AT ALL!!!! She loved it!!

Braelyn, Grandma, and Papa
The main reason all the family came to visit was because our neice, Kara, was in her first musical/play of "Beauty and the Beast". She was the main part of Belle, and seriously did incredible!!! We are all so proud of her!!! Here are a few pics of the play.

Then on Mothers Day, we got to talk to Britton's brother, Carson, who is on a misson in Chile. It was really cool to get to talk to him. Afterwards we all had dinner at Cooper and Ahlenas (Brittons brother) to celebrate Mothers Day! So, that's my busy/fun/crazy weekend in a nutshell!!! It was great!!! :>

Holy 8 Months Old!

This has been the greatest 8 months EVER!!! It's gone so fast, and I can't believe how big Braelyn is getting. We finally got some pretty good pics of her smiling on camera (most of them were taken while she was playing, so she couldn't focus on the camera). The first on here is today(the actual 8 month date), and the rest are from a few days ago. If you look closely, you can really see the age difference that takes place within a couple of days. J/K totally kidding!!!

We Have a Date!!!

We are so excited to announce that we FINALLY have a finalization date for the adoption of Braelyn!!! For those of you who aren't familiar with how it works, I'll tell you: A few days after she was born the birth parents sign a document turning over all their parental rights, and we sign it to saying we are the adoptive parents. Even though that happens, it's not "officially" legal in the state. That takes anywhere from 6-9 months. Our case was a little different, and has taken just a tiny bit longer because of some signature/paperwork drama, but it's totally fine, and moving forward...yay! So, anyways our date is July 15, 2009! We have to go to the court, meet with a judge, and sign some stuff (birth certificate, etc.). After that we can bless her, and take her to the temple to be sealed to us!!! We haven't set an official date for that yet, but we will soon. I'm just giddy with excitement...she's gonna be stuck with us whether she likes it or not!!! :>
Sometimes I still can't believe that we were chosen to be the parents of this sweet girl. She just has something special about her, and we love her tons! I'm so thankful for how she came to us....
She's the best!
